In addition to the bedtime meditation, the CD includes 22 minutes of Christian affirmations for children with such positive statements as, "I am special to God," "God created me and I am here for a purpose," and "I am kind to others because they are God's children too." The affirmations can be played while children sleep, work, or play.
Author Rhonda Jones, creator of the award-winner website The Christian Meditator, produced the CD out of a desire to help her grandson fall to sleep and saturate him with positive messages about Christ. "If children can get Christian principles in their minds and hearts early in life, it will help to build their self-esteem, spirituality, and understanding of God," stated Jones.
Several years ago, according to Jones, her 4-year-old niece cried nightly before bedtime. She told her mother there were monsters in her room. This had gone on for six months. "My sister was frustrated and at a loss of what to do," said Jones. Jones prayed for any unclean spirits to leave the house and gave her niece an angel who would watch over her at night. Immediately, the nighttime frights stopped. "I hope parents can use the Bedtime Blessing Meditation CD to calm children's fears about bedtime and let them know they are loved and protected as well,' said the author.
